TTT Academy: Building a Sustainable Learning Ecosystem in Zanzibar
At R.O.S.A., we believe that stronger teachers build stronger students and stronger communities.
This November, that vision will take another step forward with the launch of TTT (Training Teachers for Tomorrow) Academy, a system-integrated e-learning platform designed to support the professional and personal development of high school teachers in Zanzibar.
From Teacher Training to Lifelong Learning
On August 31, during our monthly TTT Programme Mentoring Session, the R.O.S.A. leadership team introduced TTT Academy to our Community of Practice in Zanzibar and shared the vision behind the platform ahead of its planned deployment in November 2026.
TTT Academy brings together a competency framework covering key areas for today’s educators, including AI in education, teaching methodologies, social and emotional learning, student and teacher mental health, cybersecurity and data analysis, leadership, communication, and digital literacy.

At the heart of TTT Academy is collaboration.
The platform brings together three core partners: the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Zanzibar, the Zanzibar Institute of Education, and Cisco Networking Academy. Together, these partnerships connect local educational leadership with digital learning and professional development resources to support educators across Zanzibar.
Importantly, the development of the TTT Academy platform has been funded by the Cisco Foundation through the Cash Grant 2026, supporting R.O.S.A.’s efforts to use technology for good and expand access to sustainable digital education.
Preparing Educators and Students for the Future
TTT Academy is about more than providing online courses. It is designed to help educators turn learning into action. Through the platform, teachers will be able to develop new competencies, exchange knowledge with their peers, access resources for their classrooms, and build evidence of their professional growth. In turn, stronger and more digitally prepared educators can help students develop the skills needed to participate in the 21st-century job market.
As we prepare for TTT Academy’s deployment in Zanzibar this November, we are excited to continue working alongside our partners and local educators to build a learning ecosystem designed for long-term impact.
