ReCoding Africa TTT Program – Closing Ceremony in Zanzibar
The closing ceremony of the ReCoding Africa TTT Program – Training Teachers for Tomorrow marked a proud and memorable conclusion to an impactful journey in Zanzibar. The event was attended both in person and remotely by distinguished guests, including His Excellency Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Minister for Foreign Affairs and East Africa Cooperation of Tanzania and former Ambassador of Tanzania to Italy; Giuseppe Sean Coppola, Italian Ambassador to Tanzania; Khamis Abdulla Said, Principal Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Zanzibar; and Mbwana Yahya Mwinyi, Director of ICT in Education at the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Zanzibar.
During the ceremony, the trainees presented insightful analyses on the current status of ICT in Zanzibar’s school system, highlighting how digital skills can strengthen education and open new opportunities for students. The TTT Team awarded certificates and recognition to the participants, while the teachers expressed their gratitude through heartfelt gifts and words of appreciation. It was a celebration filled with pride, joy, and a shared sense of accomplishment.
The results of the training have exceeded expectations, empowering local educators, fostering collaboration between institutions, and strengthening the bridge between Tanzania and Italy in advancing educational innovation. All parties, including R.O.S.A., the local institutions, and the international representatives, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the continuation and upscaling of the TTT Program in the years to come to other regions in Tanzania and in other African countries.
