How R.O.S.A.’s International University Partnerships Are Shaping the Future of Global Education

At R.O.S.A., our mission is clear: to remove barriers to inclusive, high-quality education across the globe. Founded in Rome in 2014, R.O.S.A. brings together volunteers, educators, professionals, and students from around the world to support underserved communities through meaningful service-learning, volunteer placements, and impactful internships.

By partnering with leading international universities like Bocconi University and Temple University, we empower students to translate academic learning into real-world contributions that advance education equity and community well-being around the globe.

Through on-site and remote opportunities, our interns gain professional experience while contributing directly to impactful projects that help remove barriers to social awareness and educational opportunity.

Through our relationship with Bocconi University and its JobGate platform, we are proud to offer students a chance to step into roles that matter — blending academic knowledge, practical skills, and social impact.

Meet Sude — Social Media Manager Intern

Sude is a third-year Bocconi University student where she studies International Economics and Management on a scholarship. She joined R.O.S.A. through the university’s JobGate internship portal and currently serves as our Social Media Manager. In this role, Sude:

  • Creates engaging, mission-driven social content
  • Supports online community growth
  • Amplifies awareness of R.O.S.A.’s remote volunteer programs
  • Drives engagement with global audiences through strategic digital storytelling

Her work strengthens R.O.S.A.’s online presence and helps broaden access to volunteer and internship opportunities for students and changemakers everywhere.

Sude’s commitment to education equity is deeply rooted in her personal experience. During high school, she was selected for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (KL-YES) Program, receiving a full scholarship to spend a year in the United States as a cultural ambassador. Now through her internship, she contributes to initiatives that promote fairness, opportunity, and long-term impact in education worldwide.

Experiencing equal access to education firsthand showed me how powerful opportunity can be – and motivated me to help create that access for others.

Meet Paulius Danielius — Grants Writer Intern

Paulius is a freshman at Bocconi University, studying BSc Economics and Social Sciences. He joined R.O.S.A. while seeking a flexible, meaningful internship that could be balanced alongside his studies. Drawn to the nonprofit sector through his work with youth NGOs back in Lithuania, Paulius found the Grants Writer position on Bocconi’s JobGate platform.

In this role, Paulius:

  • Researches funding opportunities
  • Supports the drafting of grant proposals
  • Assists with impact reporting
  • Helps strengthen organizational sustainability

“Working on grant proposals and impact reports enables me to contribute directly to R.O.S.A.’s mission of supporting education systems in developing countries in integrating ICT tools and modern teaching methods…”

His work exemplifies how academic partnerships can empower students to grow professionally while advancing education equity on a global scale.

Another inspiring partnership is with Temple University, especially through the Temple Rome internship program, which matches students studying abroad with purpose-driven nonprofit opportunities.

This program allows students to gain academic credit while joining organizations that align with their long-term goals and interests. Students submit a cover letter detailing their aspirations and experiences, and are then connected with placements that allow them to grow professionally while serving communities globally.

Meet Ameya Nerella — Marketing & Research Intern

Ameya is a junior at Temple University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Statistical Science and Data Analytics. Passionate about understanding human behavior, she aims to pursue a career in market research — blending analytical thinking with creative strategy.

Ameya’s journey toward global service began when she traveled to rural Tamil Nadu, India, where she taught English and gained firsthand insight into how education opens doors for students regardless of circumstance.

As R.O.S.A.’s Marketing Intern, Ameya:

  • Applies data and psychology-based insights to communication planning
  • Supports strategic outreach efforts
  • Helps raise awareness of remote volunteer and internship opportunities
  • Develops marketing content that highlights R.O.S.A.’s mission

“This internship helps me increase my professional experience and allows me to work for an organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education empowerment.”

Through her work, Ameya helps elevate R.O.S.A.’s visibility to a global audience—expanding opportunities for students, volunteers, and supporters to engage.

Why These Partnerships Matter

Through R.O.S.A.’s partnerships with Bocconi and Temple University, students are able to earn university credit while completing their internships. These placements are structured to align with each student’s academic program, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge in professional nonprofit setting. By combining academic rigor with hands-on experience, students gain both transcript recognition and practical skills, all while contributing to R.O.S.A.’s mission.
