In January 2025, R.O.S.A. began an exciting partnership with the Chicago-based, business-to-business service Parker Dewey.  Parker Dewey offers international and US-based businesses and non-profits the opportunity to develop and grow their operations through Micro-Internships: paid, real-world projects where college students provide their services, demonstrate their skills, build professional connections, and explore careers.

We are currently hosting micro-interns focused on 4 key areas:

  1. Website development

  2. Video content production

  3. Grant writing

  4. Research on AI tools applied to secondary education

Candela Barletti, a Google TechX scholar and computer science major at the Honors College of Florida International University, has been a tremendous asset to R.O.S.A.. As our video content production intern, she has been responsible for creating the video content for all of our social media channels. When asked about her experience with us, Candela says:

“Being part of Associazione R.O.S.A. was an incredibly meaningful experience for me. It offered a space where creativity, collaboration, and purpose came together. I had the chance to work alongside a passionate team and contribute to a cause that truly empowers and uplifts our communities. ROSA not only helped me grow professionally but also inspired me personally. It strengthened my desire to travel and help people wherever I can. I’m so grateful to have been part of such a thoughtful and driven team.”
Issac Tumba is a Nigerian-born, results-oriented entrepreneur with an MBA from Albany State University. He has 6 years of professional experience in business development, supply-chain, marketing, and client relationship management. Issac used his expertise to help us write two professional grant proposals. When asked about his time with R.O.S.A., Issac says:

"I had the privilege of working with R.O.S.A. and Mariarosy. Their dedication to expanding students’ horizons to a global capacity is both inspiring and impactful. I got to witness firsthand their resilience, innovation, and genuine passion for impact. Backed by a clear vision, what stands out most is their ever-present growth through perseverance, both in their expanding impact and the increasing strength of their initiatives. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute and confident they’ll continue making a powerful difference in the education sector."

Mandela Haulcy is an entrepreneur and junior cyber security manager. He is a rising senior at Clark Atlanta University, majoring in business technology and cyber security. During his time with R.O.S.A., Mandela assisted in AI research projects. When discussing his time with us, Mandela says:

"I interned with R.O.S.A. to conduct research in how AI can be incorporated in secondary education. During my internship I learned that, through regulations and human oversight, AI can be a very useful and powerful tool to support teachers with curriculum development."
Samariy Howard is a software developer, data analyst, and recent graduate from Albany State University. At R.O.S.A., Samariy was tasked with research on how AI tools can be implemented in secondary education. Samariy says:

"Through Parker Dewey, I interned with R.O.S.A. to research and recommend the ways artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to impact grading and curriculum development in secondary education. With ROSA, I learned that, if used wisely, AI can be a powerful tool to enhance education."

These micro-interns, provided through the Parker Dewey platform, have been an essential part of R.O.S.A.’s international growth. Thanks to Parker Dewey’s projects, funded by the De Luca Foundation and IBM, we have been able to connect with early-career candidates and get important work done at no cost to our organization, while also providing interns with authentic professional experience.
